This bill amends the Correction Law to require that incarcerated individuals who are placing calls to family members outside the continental United States, Canada, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the Central Northern Mariana Islands have the same restrictions on the duration or number of calls, or use of unit or facility phones, as those who are calling family members within those regions. The goal is to create parity in the telephone services available to incarcerated individuals making international calls to their family members.
