Bill Summary
This bill proposes creating enhanced penalties for an individual operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol that causes an accident resulting in injury or death to a minor under 18 years old. The enhanced penalties include term of imprisonment of not less than five years for injury to a minor resulting from a DUI-related accident and a term of imprisonment of not less than 15 years for death to a minor resulting from a DUI-related accident. The enhanced penalties shall be served in addition to all other terms of imprisonment imposed by the conviction of other offenses.
