This bill authorizes the City of Boston to grant up to 3 non-transferable restricted licenses for the sale of all alcohol, and up to 2 non-transferable restricted licenses for the sale of wines and malt beverages annually for the next 5 years in each of 10 specified ZIP codes. The licenses are for the sale of alcoholic beverages to be consumed on the premises under Section 12 of Chapter 138 of the General Laws. Any licenses that are not granted in a given year will be rolled over to the following year until all the licenses are distributed. If a license is canceled or revoked, it will be returned to the licensing board, which can then grant it to a new applicant in the same ZIP code.
