This bill creates a new class of teaching license for use in Montessori schools. To receive the Montessori license, an individual must hold a valid credential from the American Montessori Society, the Association Montessori Internationale, or a Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education-accredited program, have a bachelor's degree, and complete any examination requirements adopted by the State Board. Individuals holding a Montessori license can only teach in Montessori schools, unless they also hold another license issued by the State for public school teachers.
