This bill requires the Director of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum to conduct a study on Holocaust education efforts in states, local educational agencies, and public elementary and secondary schools. The study will examine whether Holocaust education is required as part of the curriculum, identify states and local agencies with optional Holocaust education, summarize the status of implementation of Holocaust education standards and requirements, determine the intended outcomes and methods used in Holocaust education, identify the types of instructional materials used, assess the comprehensiveness of Holocaust education curricula, and identify approaches used to assess student outcomes. The Director will then submit a report to Congress on the results of the study within 180 days of its completion or 3 years after the bill's enactment, whichever is earlier.
