This bill renames the State Commission for Human Rights to the Alaska State Commission for Civil Rights, provides for the removal of commissioners for cause, requires the commission to prepare a report summarizing its assessment of progress on equal employment opportunity in state government, and modifies the definition of "employer" for the purposes of the commission's activities. It also allows municipalities to establish local civil rights commissions and makes various other changes to the law governing the Alaska State Commission for Civil Rights.
