AN ACT to amend the education law and the public health law, in relation to requiring annual screenings for depression of students in grades seven through twelve

This bill amends the Education Law and the Public Health Law to require annual screenings for depression of students in grades seven through twelve. The screenings must be conducted by qualified professionals using the Patient Health Questionnaire 2 or an equivalent depression screening tool.
