This bill aims to expand whistleblower protections for contractors and grantees of the Department of Defense (DOD) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). It amends existing laws to ensure that "protected individuals," which includes contractors, subcontractors, grantees, and their employees, are protected from retaliation when they disclose information about gross mismanagement, waste, abuse of authority, or violations of law related to DOD or NASA contracts, subcontracts, grants, or subgrants. The bill also prohibits executive branch officials from requesting contractors, subcontractors, grantees, or subgrantees to engage in such prohibited retaliation, and provides for disciplinary action against any official who does so.
