AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to ensuring ovarian cancer survivors have the right to access screenings for health conditions

AI Summary

This bill amends the public health law to ensure that individuals with a personal history of ovarian cancer have the right to access genetic testing and genomic tumor profiling, without any frequency caps or other limitations. The testing includes, but is not limited to, genetic mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes, genetic mutations associated with Lynch syndrome, rearrangement analysis of all coding exons associated with ovarian cancer, and any additional mutations deemed medically necessary and appropriate by the individual's healthcare professional.
