This bill, the Diagnostic Lab Testing Transparency Act, aims to increase price transparency of clinical diagnostic laboratory tests under the Medicare program. It requires providers of services or suppliers that offer specified clinical diagnostic laboratory tests to make the discounted cash price, minimum negotiated rate, and maximum negotiated rate for each test publicly available on their website and update the information at least annually. The bill also requires the inclusion of ancillary services, such as specimen collection, in the prices or rates made publicly available. If providers or suppliers fail to comply with the transparency requirements, the Secretary of Health and Human Services may impose civil monetary penalties up to $300 per day.
