This bill, called the Artificial Intelligence Leadership Training Act or the AI Leadership Training Act, requires the Director of the Office of Personnel Management to establish or ensure the provision of a training program on artificial intelligence (AI) for federal management officials, supervisors, and other designated employees. The program aims to ensure that covered employees have knowledge about the capabilities and risks of AI, safety and ethical issues, federal government requirements and best practices, and other matters related to AI development and use within the government. The bill also requires the Director to update the program at least once every two years and establish metrics to measure participation and receive feedback to improve the program. Congress can request information about the program materials and responsible parties. The bill expresses a sense of Congress that the training should include interactions with technologists, scholars, and other experts.
