This bill, the SHOW UP Act of 2023 or the Stopping Home Office Work's Unproductive Problems Act of 2023, requires executive agencies to reinstate their pre-pandemic telework policies, practices, and levels within 30 days of the bill's enactment. The bill also mandates that agencies submit a study on the impacts of expanded telework during the COVID-19 pandemic and a plan for the agency's future use of telework, along with a certification from the Office of Personnel Management Director that the plan will have a positive effect on the agency's mission, reduce costs, and ensure teleworking employees have the necessary resources. Agencies cannot expand their telework policies until they receive the required certification.
