This bill extends the expiration of the mortgage recording tax imposed by the city of Yonkers from August 31, 2023 to August 31, 2025. The mortgage recording tax is a tax of 50 cents for every $100 (or remaining major fraction thereof) of the principal debt or obligation secured by a mortgage on real property located within the city of Yonkers and recorded on or after the effective date of the tax. The bill also maintains the 50 cent tax on mortgages with a principal debt or obligation of less than $100.
