This bill, the "End Taxpayer Funding of Gender Experimentation Act of 2023," prohibits the use of federal funds for gender transition procedures, including gender transition surgery, cross-sex hormones, and puberty-blocking drugs. It also prohibits federal health benefits plans and federal facilities from covering or providing these procedures. The bill allows individuals to purchase separate coverage for gender transition procedures using non-federal funds, and it clarifies that the prohibition does not apply to the treatment of any infection, injury, disease, or disorder caused by or exacerbated by gender transition procedures. The bill also disallows certain tax credits and subsidies under the Affordable Care Act for health plans that cover gender transition procedures.
