This bill grants retroactive membership with Tier IV status in the New York State and Local Employees' Retirement System to Dawn Ward, who was employed by the Village of Kensington starting on November 1, 1993, but was not properly enrolled in the retirement system at that time through no fault of her own. The bill requires Dawn Ward to file an application within one year of the effective date of the act, and the past service costs associated with the implementation of this act will be borne by the Village of Kensington. This will result in an increase in the annual contributions of the Village of Great Neck, Village of Kensington, and Village of Baxter Estates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, and a one-time past service cost to be paid by the Village of Kensington.
