This bill establishes the Division on Marijuana and Cannabis Enforcement within the Department of Law and Public Safety. The division's purpose is to compile information, raise public awareness, and serve as a centralized resource for law enforcement agencies regarding crimes and offenses related to marijuana and cannabis. The division will maintain a database of arrests for driving while intoxicated involving marijuana or cannabis, arrests and convictions related to marijuana and cannabis, and information on seized marijuana or cannabis. The division will also launch a public awareness campaign on the risks of driving under the influence of marijuana or cannabis, including the combined use of marijuana or cannabis and alcohol. The division will submit an annual report to the Governor and Legislature, including the compiled data and any recommended legislative changes.
