This bill amends Pennsylvania's Title 44 (Law and Justice) to adopt the Uniform Electronic Recordation of Custodial Interrogations Act. It requires law enforcement to electronically record, with audio and video, the entirety of custodial interrogations related to crimes of violence, with some exceptions (e.g., exigent circumstances, individual's refusal to be recorded). The bill imposes requirements on law enforcement agencies to establish procedures for handling and preserving these recordings, and grants the Attorney General authority to promulgate regulations to implement the law, including temporary regulations to facilitate prompt implementation.
