This bill, the Cattle Fever Tick Eradication Program Enhancement Act of 2023, directs the Secretary of Agriculture to review the Cattle Fever Tick Eradication Program, which is a program operated by the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service and the Texas Animal Health Commission to prevent and reduce the spread of cattle fever ticks. The review, to be conducted by a land-grant college or university or a non-land-grant college of agriculture, will evaluate the program's effectiveness, the benefits and burdens for cattle producers, the treatment protocols used, and the funding allocated to the program. The Secretary will then submit a report to Congress with the review's findings and recommendations for improving the program, particularly by reducing the burdens on cattle producers.
