This Resolution wholeheartedly commends the BREC Foundation, a nonprofit corporation established in 2002 to support public parks, open spaces, and conservation in East Baton Rouge Parish, for its exceptional service. The BREC Foundation, which stands for the Recreation and Park Commission for the parish of East Baton Rouge Foundation, works to develop recreational opportunities for all citizens and has collaborated with the BREC for over two decades to raise funds for parks and recreation, benefiting the health, welfare, and cultural enrichment of the community. It achieves this by fostering public-private partnerships, revitalizing parks, constructing trails, supporting youth programs, and creating new amenities, all driven by donor interests and the dedication of its volunteers, and this commendation will be communicated to various local officials and organizations.
