This bill amends the Probate Code of 1939 to allow a juvenile under 18 years of age who is taken into custody to be transported with an adult, but only if the juvenile is 16 years of age or older, the adult is no more than 25 years of age, they were taken into custody at the same time for the same offense or were occupying the same vehicle, and the juvenile is separated from the adult at the earliest available time. The bill also clarifies that juveniles must not be confined in certain facilities or transported with or made to associate with criminal or dissolute persons, except as provided in the bill. The amendatory act takes effect 90 days after it is enacted into law.
