This bill authorizes the town of Northfield to continue the employment of Floyd Dunnell, III, as the fire chief, despite the maximum age requirement. The bill allows Dunnell to serve in this position until December 31, 2026, the date of his retirement, or non-reappointment, whichever occurs first, as long as he is physically and mentally capable of performing his duties. The town will, at its own expense, require Dunnell to be examined by an impartial physician to determine his capability, and no deductions from his regular compensation will be made for retirement or pension purposes under chapter 32 of the Massachusetts General Laws.
