AI Summary
This bill amends Michigan law to require the use of a risk and needs assessment for juveniles in the juvenile justice system before disposition. The assessment must be research-based, nationally validated, and shared with the court and parties to inform the most appropriate disposition for the juvenile, considering factors like public safety, victim interests, and rehabilitation. The court must consider the assessment results when making dispositional decisions, and order new assessments periodically or upon major life events. The bill also includes provisions related to parenting time, reimbursement of costs, and other procedural requirements for juvenile court proceedings.
