This bill updates certain statutory fees and establishes or updates permit and licensing fees for the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC). The bill increases fees for various licenses, borrow pits, hazardous waste assessments, underground storage tank registrations, aboveground storage tank registrations and construction permits, and fees related to extremely hazardous substances, air quality, watershed stewardship, coastal zone management, water supply, and wastewater treatment. The bill also authorizes DNREC to increase these fees by up to 5% annually. The new fee schedule is intended to help DNREC address rising costs and maintain its self-funded operations, as the agency has not raised many of these fees since 1991.
