This bill, the Ukraine Aid Oversight Act, aims to provide for the independent and objective conduct and supervision of audits and investigations related to the programs and operations funded with amounts appropriated or otherwise made available to Ukraine for military, economic, and humanitarian aid. It expands and renames the Office of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction to the Office of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction and Ukraine Aid, and grants the Special Inspector General the authority to oversee the obligation and expenditure of funds, review contracts and monitor coordination with the Government of Ukraine and other entities. The bill also requires quarterly reports to Congress on the use of these funds and allows for public transparency, with certain national security exceptions. The Office will terminate on September 30, 2027, at which point the Special Inspector General will submit a final forensic audit report.
