This bill exempts from sales and use tax zero-emission school buses, as defined in the Education Law, as well as any and all parts and pieces of equipment used in their operation. The bill aims to incentivize the adoption of zero-emission school buses by removing the tax burden associated with their purchase and maintenance. The bill will take effect on the first day of the next quarterly sales tax period, following 30 days after it becomes law.
