This bill amends the Multiple Dwelling Law to require that all windows, except those leading to fire escapes and one window in each ground floor or basement apartment for emergency exit, in newly constructed multiple dwellings exceeding one story in height be fitted with key-operated window locks that restrict the window from opening more than four inches. The key-operated window locks are defined as devices that can be locked and unlocked using a key.
