Bill Summary
RESOLUTION Designating the week of September 24 through September 30, 2023, as ‘‘Gold Star Families Remembrance Week’’.
AI Summary
This Resolution officially designates the week of September 24 through September 30, 2023, as "Gold Star Families Remembrance Week" to honor and recognize the profound sacrifices made by families who have lost loved ones serving in the Armed Forces, meaning the military branches of the United States. The resolution acknowledges that a gold star is a symbol representing a family member who died in the line of duty, and it highlights that while "Gold Star Mother's Day" has been recognized, there hasn't been a dedicated time for all families affected by such losses. Therefore, this week is set aside to remember these families and encourages the public to observe it through acts of service and by celebrating those who have experienced such ultimate sacrifices, ensuring their contributions to freedom and the nation are never forgotten.
