This bill creates exemptions from public records and public meetings requirements for certain information and meetings related to the Social Work Licensure Compact. Specifically, it exempts personal identifying information of social workers (other than their name, licensure status, or number) held by the Department of Health or the Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling from public records requirements. It also exempts certain meetings or portions of meetings of the Social Work Licensure Compact Commission or its committees from public meetings requirements, as well as the records generated during those closed meetings. These exemptions are necessary for Florida to effectively implement and administer the Social Work Licensure Compact, which requires the protection of such information and the ability to hold closed meetings on certain sensitive topics.
