This bill changes the name and membership of the Nantucket Planning and Economic Development Commission to the Nantucket Regional Planning Commission. The commission will now consist of 5 elected members with 3-year rotating terms, and 6 appointed members representing various Nantucket town boards and commissions. The bill also requires the commission to produce an annual written report for the town meeting. The transition to the new commission structure is outlined, with the first elected members being chosen in the next annual town election, and previously appointed at-large members continuing to serve until their terms expire. The term limit of 9 years total for commission members does not apply to prior service before this act.
