This bill, the Transparency in Legacy Road and Trail Remediation Act of 2023, amends the Public Law 88-657 to require greater transparency in the consideration of projects for the Forest Service Legacy Road and Trail Remediation Program. Specifically, it requires the Forest Service to solicit and consider public input regionally by publishing annually a list of projects considered for funding, accepting public comments, and considering those comments in selecting projects. The bill also requires the Forest Service to publish annually, for each region, a list that includes a description of each project considered for funding, the public comments received, the ranking of each project within the applicable region, and the proposed outcome of each funded project. The term "region" is defined as one of the 9 regions of the Forest Service.
