This bill, the Honor Our Living Donors Act, aims to amend the Public Health Service Act to eliminate the consideration of the income of organ recipients when providing reimbursement of expenses to organ donors. Specifically, the bill prohibits grant recipients from taking the organ recipient's income into account when reimbursing donors. It also removes the expectation that organ recipients will make payments. Additionally, the bill requires the Secretary to annually report on whether the grant program provided adequate funding to reimburse all participating donors for their qualifying expenses.
