This bill, titled the "More Child Care and Jobs for Military Families Act," directs the Secretary of Defense to submit a report to Congress on the at-home child care programs offered by each military department. The report will include information on the number of such programs that have opened, closed, or relocated in the past three years, as well as any difficulties experienced by military spouses employed at these programs in obtaining certifications or licenses, or in opening, closing, or relocating their programs. The report will also summarize the effects of these changes on the employment rate of military spouses living near the at-home child care programs. Additionally, the bill requires the Secretary of Defense to conduct a feasibility study on standardizing the licensing and certification requirements for at-home child care providers, removing barriers to the expansion of these programs, and supporting the employment of military spouses in such programs. The findings of this feasibility study must be reported to Congress within 180 days of the submission of the initial report.
