This bill amends the Public Health Code to expand the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR) to include the reporting of adverse events resulting from immunizing agents. Specifically, the bill requires health care providers to submit a report to the Department of Health (the Department) on any adverse events related to immunizations, including details about the patient, the immunizing agent, and the outcome of the adverse event. The bill also restricts the Department from promulgating or enforcing any rules that would grant schools or their representatives access to the MCIR. Additionally, the bill makes other changes to immunization reporting requirements, such as requiring health care providers to notify parents of their right to object to the reporting of their child's immunizations to the MCIR.
