This bill establishes a Pediatric Cancer Research and Resource Project Trust Fund within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The fund will provide grants for pediatric cancer research projects, which focus on the causes, prevention, education, screening, treatment, or cure of pediatric cancer, as well as for pediatric cancer resource projects, which are community-based educational, informational, awareness, and financial resource projects that aim to improve the lives of individuals affected by pediatric cancer. The bill also requires the Executive Office of Health and Human Services to establish a permanent advisory committee to award and allocate these grants, with the committee consisting of members including survivors of pediatric cancer, caregivers, a representative from a nationwide childhood cancer advocacy non-profit, and professionals from the childhood cancer field. Additionally, the Executive Office of Health and Human Services must submit an annual report to the state legislature detailing the grants awarded, the resulting research, and other relevant information.
