This bill, the Open Source Intelligence Availability Act, requires the Director of National Intelligence to develop a plan to make open-source intelligence products available to certain federal employees who are not part of the intelligence community but would find such products valuable. The plan must include policies and procedures to increase the availability and accessibility of these unclassified products, as well as translated foreign language material. The bill also directs the Director of National Intelligence to update Intelligence Community Directive 208 to address the production and dissemination of unclassified intelligence products derived from open-source information, and to address the needs of federal employees without security clearances who could benefit from these products.
