This bill amends Titles 24 (Education) and 71 (State Government) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to provide for supplemental annuity payments to eligible benefit recipients commencing in July 2024, July 2025, and July 2026. The supplemental annuity payments will be in addition to any other existing supplemental annuities and will be equal to the regular monthly annuity payment received by the eligible recipient in the prior June. Eligible recipients are those who are receiving a superannuation, withdrawal, or disability annuity, whose most recent retirement date was prior to July 2, 2001, and whose credited service does not include Class T-D, Class D-4, or Class AA service. The additional liability for these supplemental annuities will be funded in equal annual installments over a 10-year period beginning July 1, 2024.
