This bill establishes the Commercial Space Activity Advisory Committee within the Department of Commerce's Office of Space Commerce. The committee will be composed of 15 members from the private commercial space industry and will advise the Secretary of Commerce and Congress on the status and recent developments of the commercial space sector, provide recommendations to facilitate and promote a robust commercial space industry, identify challenges faced by the commercial sector, and review best practices for avoiding harmful contamination of the Moon and other celestial bodies. The committee is set to terminate 10 years after its establishment.
