This bill allows the director of motor vehicles to require nonresident aliens temporarily residing in New Hampshire to submit various certifications, including their driving record, licensing status, proof of previous vehicle operation, or completion of a driver education course, for the issuance of a driver's license. The bill also requires the director to set the license term based on the length of the person's residence in New Hampshire, and allows the director to deny a license if it may be contrary to public safety. Once licensed, the individual is subject to the same provisions of the law as all other licensees, and must return the license when they no longer meet the conditions for issuance.
