This bill, the Accelerating Small Business Growth Act, establishes a competitive grant program within the Department of Transportation to provide financial assistance to eligible entities, such as states, local governments, and tribal governments, to create and implement programs that help businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals achieve proficiency to compete on an equal basis for contracts and subcontracts in DOT-funded projects. The bill defines "socially and economically disadvantaged individuals" as per the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and requires grant recipients to submit a report evaluating the effectiveness of their activities. The Secretary of Transportation must also submit a report to Congress evaluating the overall program.
