This bill eliminates the vote on school budgets for Type II school districts in April elections, except for separate proposals to spend above the cap. Type II school districts with an April school election will no longer hold a vote on the general fund tax levy, but will still vote on proposals to spend above the cap. Type II school districts with a November school election will continue to have their budgets determined by the board of education and board of school estimate, with the same exception for proposals to spend above the cap. The bill also makes other changes to the organization and meeting dates for school boards in Type II districts.
