This bill establishes a Task Force on the Indo-Pacific Treaty Organization to analyze the conduct of China and North Korea, as well as the security situation in the Indo-Pacific region, and determine whether a collective security agreement between the United States and its allies and partners in the region could serve as an effective deterrent to further aggression. The Task Force will be chaired by the Secretary of State and consist of several other senior U.S. government officials. Within one year, the Secretary of State must submit a report to Congress containing the results of the Task Force's analysis and any recommendations regarding the terms of such a collective security agreement.
