It allows APRNs to prescribe certain scheduled drugs, including Schedule II hydrocodone, and receive and distribute non-scheduled drug samples, without the requirement of a collaborative practice arrangement with a physician. The bill also removes geographic proximity restrictions for collaborative practice arrangements between APRNs and physicians, and exempts certain experienced APRNs from the requirement to work in a collaborative practice arrangement altogether.
