This bill changes the mission of Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) to focus on international or global education, health and life sciences, and immersive learning experiences. The bill designates MSSU as a moderately selective institution that can provide associate, baccalaureate, and graduate degree programs, except that as of July 1, 2008, MSSU must discontinue any associate degree programs unless approved by the Coordinating Board for Higher Education. The bill also requires MSSU to develop academic support programs and public service activities to establish international or global education as a distinctive theme of its mission.
