This bill creates and modifies provisions relating to gold and silver as legal tender in the state of Missouri. It declares that specie legal tender and electronic currency shall be accepted as legal tender for the payment of all public and private debts in the state. The bill also allows entities doing business in Missouri to compensate employees, in full or in part, with the dollar equivalent of specie legal tender. Additionally, the bill prohibits the state of Missouri and its agencies from seizing, restricting, or discriminating against the use of specie legal tender or electronic currency by individuals.
