This bill establishes the Washington State Commission on Boys and Men. The commission will focus on five key areas: education, jobs and financial health, fatherhood and family, physical and mental health, and experiences in the criminal justice system. The commission will be led by an executive director appointed by the governor and will have nine non-legislative voting members appointed by the legislature and governor. The commission will monitor legislation, collaborate with other state commissions, work with state agencies, and develop metrics to measure the well-being of Washington's male population. The commission may receive private donations and enter into agreements to carry out its duties.
