This bill exempts the personal identifying and location information of current county administrators and city managers, including their spouses and children, from public records requirements. The exemption includes their home addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, and photographs, as well as the names, home addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, and places of employment of their spouses and children, and the names and locations of schools and day care facilities attended by their children. The bill cites the need to protect this information from potential misuse and threats to the safety of county administrators and city managers and their families. The exemption is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and will stand repealed on October 2, 2029, unless reviewed and saved from repeal through reenactment by the Legislature. The bill will take effect on July 1, 2024.
