AN ACT to amend the judiciary law, in relation to exempting senior citizens from jury duty

This bill amends the Judiciary Law to exempt prospective jurors who are 75 years of age or older from jury duty, upon their request. The chief administrator of the courts will prescribe a form for these senior citizens to file with the commissioner of jurors, who will then exempt them from jury service. The exemption remains valid unless the senior citizen requests to be reinstated as a prospective juror.
