This bill authorizes Thomas Struthers, an employee of Shawsheen Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School, to purchase 3 years of creditable service from the Massachusetts Teachers' Retirement Board for the period of 1983-2000 when he worked in the occupational field in which he teaches. This will allow Struthers to include that service time when determining his superannuation retirement allowance under the state's retirement system. Struthers must pay into the system's annuity savings fund an amount equal to the regular deductions that would have been made, plus interest, before his retirement allowance can become effective.
