This bill requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to enter into an agreement with an independent and objective organization to conduct a study on the quality of care difference between mental health and addiction therapy care provided by health care providers of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) compared to non-VA providers. The study will assess various aspects, including health outcomes, use of evidence-based practices, coordination between providers, implementation of veteran-centric care, and whether veterans with co-occurring conditions receive integrated care. The organization must submit a report with the final results of the study to the Senate and House Committees on Veterans' Affairs and publish it on a publicly available website within 18 months of the agreement being entered into.
