This bill amends existing Arizona law to prohibit public schools and public libraries from referring students or unemancipated minors to or facilitating their access to any sexually explicit materials, which are defined to include textual, visual, or audio content depicting sexual conduct, sexual excitement, or ultimate sexual acts. The bill provides exemptions for materials with serious educational, literary, artistic, political, or scientific value, but requires written parental consent before a public school can use such exempted materials. Employees or independent contractors who violate these provisions would be guilty of a class 5 felony.
